Nothing is more American for the 4th of July than some fresh Washington Cherries. They were on sale at our local store for $1.47/lb. today and I couldn’t resist buying enough for a bunch of Cherry Pies. One pie won’t do in this house on a holiday since my kids and grandkids will all drop by to see what momma cooked up.

Well, big problem. She said “you bought ‘em, you pit ‘em!” Oh boy, what did I get myself into. “No problem” I said “I’ll just Google how to pit cherries the easy way”. After a half dozen sales pitches for $12 Cherry Pitters, I found a few suggestions on recipe sites, combined them, and made the simplest – cheapest – easiest – and fastest Cherry Pitter with just a straw and a chopstick.

Pop goes the Cherry Pit - Stem and all

Hold the cherry by the stem between your thumb and forefinger. Then insert the straw into the bottom of the cherry and push towards the stem while holding the cherry. If your aim is true the seed will pop right out – stem and all with no meat lost. That’s all there is to it. When I say “POP out”, I do mean it – so push slowly and hang onto the stem or be ready to catch the seed if the stem is missing. I had my wife take these pictures with my DSLR. I should have given her the point and shoot with auto focus, my bad. We ran out of cherries before I looked at the pictures so these will have to do. I may try again with a new batch of cherries. (After the kids go home!)

EZ DIY Cherry Pitter - Drinking Straw, Chopstick, and Scissors

You will need a PLASTIC DRINKING STRAW, a CHOPSTICK or skewer, and a pair of scissors. That’s it. The cheapest, simplest, and fastest Cherry Pitter you can find. My local Chinese restaurant happens to be named “Red Chopsticks”. The straw should be small to medium diameter – about 1/4 inch, the seed will get stuck in fatter straws. Push the straw over the round end of the chopstick or skewer until it is tight, otherwise it will move when you push it into the cherry. Cut the straw leaving about 1/2 inch past the end of the chopstick. This will be the part doing the cutting and will flare out after a few pounds of cherries. Just slide it off and flip it over for a few more pounds and then pitch it in the trash recycle it when it’s too flared out to use. The stiffer the straw the longer it will last. The chopstick not only strengthens it, it keeps from wasting any cherry by plugging the straw. Once the first 1/2 inch is full of cherry it will push the meat into the seed hole and you will have no waste.

Leave 1/2 inch of Straw on end

I should have seen it coming a long time ago. Back in 1995 Berny Dohrmann of Income Builders International (now CEO Space ) was teaching us to “Think Global”. I was even lucky enough to sit less than 20 feet away from Bill Gates at breakfast the day he unveiled Windows 95 at the L.A. World Trade Center. Let me clarify that, I was there for a week of IBI classes and networking. I was late for breakfast that day and the only table left was a single near the Mayor’s Breakfast conference table. Bill Gates was the Mayor’s guest of honor that day. He did say hello on his way out, not that he could avoid me sitting in the aisle. Later that morning I walked into the wrong conference room, via the stage left door and interrupted his presentation for a few seconds as everyone looked to see who was coming in – the wrong door. Live and learn, that’s my motto. You would think I might have learned something during that week, and I did. But like my slogans that took 10 years to put on paper and another 20 to market, it floats around in my brain for years, and years, and years, then BAM, like a rock it sinks in. And in this case, 15 years having passed, all that Berny taught us about the coming global markets have come to pass already. Guess I’m a slow learner. But I have LEarned, and it’s not too late to “Think Global” since the Asian market will double or triple in the near future.

I could have been way ahead of the game, but I don’t really play games. I do this for the fun of learning and the joy of sharing. If that profits my family, friends, and followers, so be it. Helping others create websites and watching them LEarn to Earn is the best reward I can ask for. All else is icing on the cake. Some people say that “I’ll get my reward in Heaven” but living in heaven on Earth for over 30 years (Sedona, AZ) , I’d say I already enjoy my reward. Thank you Lord, I’ll stay right here if you don’t mind (and offer a translation button for all your other children).

My main usage comes from years of providing tech support and being accused of having a “magic touch”. It seems that when I finally show up to fix the “problems” they usually just go away. Sometimes they go away when my friends just think about calling me because they know the first thing I’ll ask is “What were you trying to do?”. So there it is in a nutshell, don’t look at the “problems”, because the solution is “It’s Just Too Easy” – and I don’t mean call me. Look at what it is you want to accomplish and quit staring at the problem trying to figure out what went wrong. Focus on the right way to accomplish your goal and Get It Done.

The majority of our so called problems are self inflicted by focusing on the problem, making it seem bigger than life. Step away from it for 5 minutes, take a walk and smell the flowers. You can even take that walk in your mind for 5 seconds and accomplish the same thing, just clear your mind of what you perceive to be the problem(s). When you have forgotten it, then approach the situation again with a fresh look at what you want to accomplish, not what you think is wrong. If you keep looking at the problems you won’t see the solutions sitting right in front of you. Most of the time It’s Just Too Easy. Sometimes starting over will be a lot easier than fixing the “problems”.

I can’t count how many times a client or friend has called me with a computer problem they were struggling with and they will spend the first 5 minutes trying to tell me what is WRONG if I can’t shut them up. Sometimes they are so stressed by the time they call me they just have to vent before they can listen. I usually tell them to turn off the computer and take a walk for 5 minutes then call me back once they have settled down. Seriously, half the time they have no choice but to just re-boot and start over anyway. That’s just a fact of life with certain un-named operating systems.

We are not much different than MS Windows, sometimes we get stuck trying to run too many programs at once, or leave too many windows open for our brains to remember what is where. At that point it is best to do the three finger salute and bring up the “Task Manager” to sort things out or choose re-boot and start over. Focusing on one thing, or three, at a time instead of a dozen will make life a lot easier, especially with computers. But when you get stuck, just remember the answer is right in front of you. If you will stop focusing on the “problems” you will see the answers a lot easier.

That is the Tao of Just2EZ, “It’s Just Too Easy”. Don’t make it more complicated than it has to be.

Now, as for where the name Just2EZ came from……

One: Just2EZ was registered the day my first grandson, EZra, was born and I wanted an EZ name for his great grandmothers to be able to find his website – well it turned out not to be so easy for them or anyone else when you’re saying Just2EZ.com on the telephone. What seems EZ to me isn’t necessarily easy for anyone else. I should know that since I spend half my time helping other people do things that are Just Too Easy for me.
That’s another story.

Two: There are 2 EZs because one of my nicknames is “EZ Money” due to that magic touch I was talking about. People pay me $25 to touch electronics for 5 minutes and heal them, silly people. I can complicate anything as well as the next tech person but hate to charge for 4 hrs of sitting on my thumbs when it only takes 5 minutes to make the problems go away. I can even do “psychic” repairs, just send $25 to my PayPal account and Consider It Done – I’ll be that little voice in your head telling you to Re-Boot!

That leaves the JUST part. What can I say, I say just a lot, including “It’s Just Too Easy”. When people ask me what was wrong with their computer I just tell them I don’t know. It’s easier than explaining their thinking patterns that created the problems, although I’m pretty good at that too after so many years of seeing the same patterns being repeated. I have often been accused of being psychic because I can usually tell them what they did click by click, and what they were thinking, even though they can’t remember how they got themselves into that mess. But I try to avoid revisiting the problems and focus on what they wanted to do in the first place. With any luck I’ve helped a few others learn to see that “It’s Just Too Easy” when they focus on the goals and solutions instead of the problems

I know some people will fear negative Results so much they will not even try to make their dreams a reality. They will never succeed until they overcome the FEAR. You need to have Faith that YOUR unique ideas are in YOUR head for a reason and want to be expressed, be it through art, music, science, or the gift of gab – whatever way you enJoy the most. Doubts about your ability are nothing more than an unwillingness to learn from your mistakes. If you FEAR you will fail, you will never try. If you never try, you will never fail. If you never fail, you will never learn from your mistakes. If you never learn from your mistakes, you will never succeed. Have Faith.

Trust your gut feelings to be like a guardrail along the side of the road to your destiny, not a stop sign in the middle of it. Use caution and reason, especially when it comes to spending money on advertising your new venture. Start slowly and learn a little at a time so you don’t overload and create more fear or go broke before you learn. Take baby steps and learn from your little mistakes. Don’t just think about how your going to do something – do a little now and learn from it, you can change and improve things later. Nothing is permanent except death and taxes, and the second one you means you are making money. Pay more taxes and have less fear of dying because you are FEARless. Your ideas are unique and valuable to someone. Share them with the world and create Results.

Like this post, it’s unfinished, and I’m afraid it’s worthless….

But I know I was inspired to write it for a reason so I’m posting it anyway!

Maybe I’ll be the only one who reads it and benefits, that’s a good enough reason.

I am fed up and not going to put one more penny in some gurus pocket for promises that are never quite what they seemed. So with that in mind, I am going back to what I enjoy doing the most, spending time in the beautiful Red Rocks of Sedona taking photos to share with my family and friends around the world plus helping others learn to create websites that pay.

There are plenty of real FREE money making ideas on this blog. None are going to make you rich over night but all are capable of producing a decent income when you put in the time and effort. No one is going to do it for you, period. Sure the “gurus” can show you their tricks and you can learn from them, just don’t be a victim of their emotional ploys. There are many legitimate ways to make money on-line. Stay focused on one at a time and quit chasing the next great guru. You can add more income streams later once you establish a base to work from. My base has always been web hosting and sharing photos, all else was just a distraction. I’m going back to focus on what I enjoy the most, and that is not being lied to. It’s not hard work if you enjoy what you are doing. Share the joy. jimmy

One of the first motivational “self help” books recommended to any entrepreneur is “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill. I not only read it many times, it was one of the first products I marketed on the internet as an Audio Book from Nightingale-Conant along with “Multiple Streams of Income” by Robert Allen. Two books I still feel everyone should read. In fact one of the most popular (and profitable) educational programs on the internet today is Success University which has video training from the same motivational teachers. We’ve come a long way from cassette tapes.

Thinking is not the way to Grow Rich. Taking ACTION is. I do not want to undermine the value of “Think and Grow Rich” but don’t get that title stuck in your head and think it will happen without you taking action. Definitely think before you take action but action must be taken before you will get rich. Even if it is only buying a lottery ticket, you can’t win if you don’t play. The odds of you getting rich on the internet are far better than from playing the lottery, especially since you can LEarn to Earn the EZ Way – without spending a dime. Of course some people feel if they don’t pay a lot it’s not worth a lot. All I can say if you feel that way is send me your money. I’ll be glad to pass it around to those more needy.

I don’t know what the point to this post was, nothing here to sell. Just had to get that off my mind. Maybe I should join Success University so I get credit for any new members? Nah, I already said I won’t give one more penny to any “gurus”, but if they want to give me a complimentary membership I’ll take it. I’ll even review it and give them my 2 cents worth on this blog.

The easiest, fastest, and cheapest (FREE) way to start making EZ money on-line is to sell other people’s digital products (software, ebooks, and subscription services) using ClickBank plus free advertising methods. You can get a Free ClickBank account and a Free ClickBank Mall in minutes (more info here) then start with free advertising today. There are many free ways and places to advertise already discussed on this site and elsewhere. A good place to start would be with free traffic exchanges like TrafficSwarm, TrafiicG, or TS25. If you use a traffic exchange the product you market should be a hot marketing product since majority of “surfers” you are exchanging traffic with are also marketers or webmasters. It is not the best place to get sales but is a fast and free way to get started and test your ads.If you have your own website it is a quick way to get your hit counter rolling and maybe attract some customers or followers. Traffic exchanges are also a good way to see what other marketers are trying to sell and how they market it. That would be in keeping with the theme of this site “Earning comes with LEarning“.

There are many people selling information on how to make money with ClickBank but there is also plenty of good free information available if you search hard enough. Many marketers reveal their tips and tricks for free, including one of the top marketers I’ve mentioned many times, Ewen Chia. It amazes me how many people just blindly pay for the next guru’s secret strategy when it probably is something they learned elsewhere and just re-packaged. Ewen is one of the few who freely shares the best marketing tactics to achieve top results no matter what you are selling. The fact that he has more of the top selling products than anyone on the net comes from his freely sharing success “secrets” with others – who end up promoting his products for him. Myself included, such as MyFree Website Builder I reviewed on this site. I have probably learned more about marketing on-line from Ewen this year than in my 15+ years of trial and error. Promoting him is just my way of saying “Thanks Ewen” for sharing freely so all can LEarn to Earn more.

Once you LEarn and Earn using free advertising you can venture into pay per click from your profits. Don’t jump into an expensive Google AdWords campaign before you have learned and earned enough to pay for it. Most people give up too soon because they spend more than they earn before they learn. LEarn to Earn the EZ way – FREE!

Seems I used that title as the headline of an ad for my own people search website, not his. Lo and behold there was my ad on page 2 of Google search results while his website was no where to be found in the first 10 pages. His website had not been “optimized” yet since he was “so busy with 8 other sites”. (more likely he was on the road and ignoring them too.) Most of the other results were for a best selling book by that title. I’d say we both learned a lesson from that experiment, and now have plenty more ads running on USFreeAds since we know how effective they are.

SEO optimization is a never ending journey and USFreeAds helps by pointing to your website from a website with a high Alexa ranking. About 15 years ago one of my great teachers pointed out that I still tend to “think” things out way too much and end up DOING NOTHING. That is not to say you shouldn’t think things out, just don’t let that stop you from STARTING. If you are thinking about doing something, you are not doing it. Just start doing and then correct yourself as you go. Another one of my teachers, the late Wally Mento, loved to teach people to just KEEP STARTING and don’t worry about finishing. After enough starts you will eventually accomplish the task. Wally said it took all week to mow his lawn because he could never “finish”. It still got done because he just kept starting instead of getting overwhelmed at the thought of all he had to do. Don’t Consider It, Get It Done by starting as soon as you can. Someday you might finish and it may be easier than you thought. Of course when it comes to the lawn, it will never be finished – sorry.

Another thing you never stop doing is Learning. You can do it the hard way, or do it the EZ Way. That brings us to the “Earning comes with Learning” part of the equation, another slogan I copyrighted back in 1988 and later used in ad campaigns for Nightingale-Conant audio books of the Masters on some of my first websites. For those who don’t get it, Earn is part of LEarn. You can Earn a degree by Learning but it is also the key to Earning EZ Money. Ozzie Freedom is being charged by the Texas attorney general with fraud – for selling INFORMATION on how to use HHO. Ozzie is the founder of the Water4Gas movement, not the inventor of the process nor does he even sell units. He created an information book on HHO that has been sold around the world, offering a full 60 day “no questions asked” refund through ClickBank, and the Texas AG has the audacity to accuse him of fraud. He even has disclaimers prominently posted that these are experimental system results with many variables involved. Yes, there have been “marketers” who made claims that were unsubstantiated and not endorsed by Ozzie or Water4Gas but those are not the people being charged. Do I smell OIL?
