Consideration Illness

Do you suffer from Consideration Illness? I did, and still do to some extent which is why I created this slogan to hang on my wall 20 years ago. It is available on hats, t-shirts, bumper stickers, coffee mugs and more at my CafePress store if you want a copy to remind you daily. The point is to “GET IT DONE!” not to consider it to death. You can even hire someone else to do it for you if that is what it takes to Get It Done!

About 15 years ago one of my great teachers pointed out that I still tend to “think” things out way too much and end up DOING NOTHING. That is not to say you shouldn’t think things out, just don’t let that stop you from STARTING. If you are thinking about doing something, you are not doing it. Just start doing and then correct yourself as you go. Another one of my teachers, the late Wally Minto, loved to teach people to just KEEP STARTING and don’t worry about finishing. After enough starts you will eventually accomplish the task. Wally said it took all week to mow his lawn because he could never “finish”. It still got done because he just kept starting instead of getting overwhelmed at the thought of all he had to do. Don’t Consider It, Get It Done by starting as soon as you can. Someday you might finish and it may be easier than you thought. Of course when it comes to the lawn, it will never be finished – sorry.

Another thing you never stop doing is Learning. You can do it the hard way, or do it the EZ Way. That brings us to the “Earning comes with Learning” part of the equation, another slogan I copyrighted back in 1988 and later used in ad campaigns for Nightingale-Conant audio books of the Masters on some of my first websites. For those who don’t get it, Earn is part of LEarn. You can Earn a degree by Learning but it is also the key to Earning EZ Money. Actually Bill was the one who always told me to “Get It Done!” way back when and planted the seed in my brain to create the slogan. It only took 10 years to put on paper and another 20 to market! (hint: I think too much.)

And no, he is not the only person who has bought one, just the only one I’ve seen wearing it on-line. Thanks for the free advertising Bill.
